FaradNet is well into its third year of operation, but this is only the second newsletter we have sent out! We apolog- ize for not keeping you better informed, but we focused all our energies on building the tremendous resource that you have come to rely on. FaradNet went online with a grand total of about 100 pages. Today the page count is more than 2200 and growing (that's a 2100% increase!). The number of capacitor companies list- ed has likewise grown from 212 to over 1100; the number of distributors and factory representatives listed has rocket- ed from 4 to over 530; and the number of raw material and services vendors to the capacitor industry has increased from 30 to 150. Additionally, the number of capacitor cata- logs (short form) online is now at 79, up from only 9. As you can see, we have been very busy adding new material and features. The FaradNet home page is now the one page that you should visit on a regular basis. Links are provided to all the features of the site, in- cluding the site search engine (see below), the bulletin board, our bookstore, the Capacitor Industry Newsletter, and of course, the product catalogs and company address listings. Home page: ** A new site search engine was installed on our homepage that allows searching of the entire site for terms of your choosing. We decided to use an engine that makes a live search each time, rather than looking up a terms in an index. The advantage of this is that the search always finds the most up-to-date information. The disadvantage is that searching is not as fast as a pre-indexed search. Please let us know which search engine type you prefer.
